The Cariplo Foundation awards a grant to The Laboratory of Experimental Biochemistry & Molecular Biology
The Laboratory of Experimental Biochemistry & Molecular Biology has received the 2018 grant from the “Cariplo Foundation” on “Age-related diseases” as a partner with University of Milano-Bicocca (PI Prof. Laura Cipolla, Dept. of Biotechnology & Bioscience) and University of Milano (unit coordinator Prof. Sabrina Corbetta, head of the Service of Endocrinology and Diabetology and Laboratory of Experimental Endocrinology of the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi). The project proposal entitled “Osteocalcin in bone metabolism and aging: molecular mechanisms and biomarkers of the bone-energy crosstalk (OstMARK)” is in line with one of the main research lines followed by Prof. Giovanni Lombardi and his group. The main aim of the study is to define the role for of the endocrine function of the bone in determining the frail phenotype of the elderly. The research group acknowledges Fondazione Cariplo for having granted the proposal.
