Genetic and epigenetic alterations in bone tumors
Thanks to the close collaboration with the research group directed by Prof. Latif at the University of Birmingham-UK, we previously characterized important modifications in the epigenetic profile of Ewing sarcoma and chordoma. Recently, through Next Generation Sequencing approaches, we have identified genomic alterations that could be involved in the development of extremely rare and poorly characterized bone sarcomas. Right now we are expanding our samples collection in the IRCCS Galeazzi biobank and setting collaboration also with maxillo-facial surgeons to evaluate head and neck inter- and intratumor heterogeneity.
