Gaia Lugano received a Master’s Degree in Medical Biotechnology from Università degli Studi di Milano in February 2017. Her thesis was carried out at Centro Cardiologico Monzino and it aimed to study possible effects of in vitro mechanical stimulation of saphenous vein-derived smooth muscle cells, that could be responsible of vein graft disease. Since September 2017 she has been working at Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi where she is involved in several projects aimed to evaluating the potential role of Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) in regenerative medicine approaches to musculoskeletal disorders.
